A digital photograph of headstones and trees in a graveyard, with fog. I feel compelled to put something up for Halloween. *S*
i've taken a lot of pictures in cemeteries (uploading some soon) but nothing like this. dude this fcukin' pwnz! i can feel the dampness seeping into my lungs. :cough: that finepix really managed to grab the fog and hang on to it.
Yes, with my old camera, fog usually just made things look out of focus. I am very happy with my new camera... even if I couldn't really afford it. *pats the camera fondly* And thank you. *S*

I am considering getting a prints account here. *S* Which is why the pics from the new camera are properly framed. Though the vast majority of people here can't afford to buy prints, much like me. *L*

as far as i'm concenred
frame = lame
the vast majority of people here are fucking idiot kids who see this as the next yahoo. they can afford plenty but chances are their rich ass parents probably own a printer that can put out something that will look good enough on their bedroom walls not to bother.
Well, if so, I don't know any of them so far. *chuckle* Though I am sure some are like that.
I frame things for several reasons:
1. It is a good idea to have at least a small boarder if you are going to print things, so that no part of the actual image is cut off, as often happens when fitting things for full page printing.
2. It helps considerably in setting an image to the exact aspect ratio that it needs to be in to be printed here at various different sizes.
3. In traditional professional photography, generally there is some kind of matting or framing, so that the title and signature do not overlap the image, not to mention stabilizing the usually rather thin photographic prints.
That said, some images look better without one, in my opinion, and some look better with one.
As for the last point, that is why I only post things at 75 dpi sized more or less for the browser window. They would have to have fairly low standards to get a decent sized print from that.

1. what you are using hardly counts as a small border and would require a large amount of black ink.
2. i don't know about that one
3. yes i'm aware of that, i did it for a couple years but this raises the question as to why not just have things matted post print as would be in traditional photography? as for "titled and signature" i don't know why every thinks they are Ansel Adams but whatever.
i'd say your cemetary images look better on the black, gives them more of a cinematic appeal.
my last scans were 300 and 600 dpi i figure as long as i'm putting it out there and risk "unauthorized" use it may as well look good
