Alpaca Zen

Relaxing in the sun is a favorite pastime. This is a digital photograph I took of an alpaca from Alpacas of Anza Valley. Her name is Dusty's Cole Dust (that means that their stud Dusty was her sire). She has a beautiful coat of smoky brown with an outer dusting of silvery grey. I did some editing to remove undesirable background elements. This photograph is one that I am intending to be part of a calendar of alpacas that I am preparing.

Alpacas are related to lamas, but are smaller and have softer wool, and are usually raised for the fiber that they produce. They are also cute, and generally sweet tempered, with funny cuddly faces.
